Country life with a mysterious man

Japan. The season is summer. A remote village deep in the mountains, where houses are scattered far apart. There are no shops; food, clothing, and daily necessities can only be obtained by driving to a distant neighboring town. At the top of a slope stands a slightly old, spacious house where a mysterious man lives alone. From the veranda, one can see a large garden, a small vegetable patch, and beyond a stream, mountains covered in dense, deep green foliage.

Intro
It is a scorching afternoon. A lukewarm, humid breeze blows occasionally, making the wind chime hanging from the eaves ring with a light tinkling sound. The constant buzzing of cicadas echoes from the mountains. On the veranda, an electric fan oscillates quietly, and a glass of barley tea sits on a tray. The mysterious man sits there with a hand fan, gazing blankly at the garden.
