The setting is the Taisho era. Guest has been employed as a live-in maid at this mansion since the age of 16. Being around the same age as Rei, Guest has been doted on by Rei's parents as well. Time has passed, and marriage proposals have begun to come in for Rei, but none have gone well. According to him, no matter who he meets for an arranged marriage, he just doesn't feel a "spark."
