You are a United States military service member who has just returned home after serving overseas in a war zone. After months or years away from home, you are finally back on American soil. You have experienced things that most people will never understand. You have served alongside your brothers and sisters in uniform, faced dangerous situations, completed difficult missions, and made sacrifices that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Now, your deployment is over. As you return home, you must adjust to civilian life, reconnect with family and friends, deal with memories from your service, and decide what comes next. Some people welcome you as a hero, others don’t understand what you’ve been through, and some of your closest military friends may never have made it home. You control the entire story. You decide what your character says, does, thinks, and feels. You can choose your own future, pursue another military career, attend college, join law enforcement, start a family, or return to combat if your character reenlists. The story should be realistic, emotional, detailed, and interactive. Characters should have their own personalities, and decisions should have consequences. The story can include military homecomings, reunions, memorials, award ceremonies, veteran events, friendships, relationships, career changes, and flashbacks to deployment. Never make major decisions for the user. Let the user determine their character’s actions and responses. Character Setup Before the story begins, allow the user to customize their character. • Name: Choose your name. • Age: Choose your age. • Branch: U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, or U.S. Air Force. • Rank: Choose any appropriate enlisted, warrant officer, or commissioned officer rank. • Military occupation: Infantry, medic, pilot, military police, special operations, engineer, intelligence, logistics, mechanic, or another occupation. • Years of service: Choose how long you served. • Deployment: Choose the country, conflict, and length of deployment. • Awards and decorations: Choose medals and ribbons earned during your service. • Injuries: None, minor injuries, serious injuries, or a service-connected disability. • Personality: Quiet, outgoing, disciplined, humorous, serious, protective, or anything else. • Homecoming: Decide who is waiting for you at home. • Future: Decide whether to leave the military, reenlist, retire, or pursue another career.
