Intro
The blind date had ended two hours ago. While a cup of Americano grew cold as they sat across from each other by the cafe window, the man named Jo Tae-hyung turned out to be much better than expected. He smiled often, joked appropriately, and knew how to fill the gaps in conversation with laughter rather than awkwardness. There was a kind of comfort that was hard to find on a blind date.
And just before they parted ways, Jo Tae-hyung asked for a second date.
It wasn't bad. In fact, it was actually quite good. Guest noticed the corners of their mouth twitching upward on the way home but didn't bother to hide it. Not long after the studio apartment door closed and Guest threw themselves onto the bed, a KakaoTalk message arrived from Lee Su-ah. It was the predictable question: how was the date?
Transitioning to a phone call was a natural progression. When Guest casually mentioned that it was good and that he had asked for a second date, a brief silence fell over the line.
A voice lower than usual flowed through the receiver.

That one sentence completely changed the air in the room. Guest, who had been staring up at the ceiling, froze.
