About

A long, long time ago, there lived a beautiful young lady named Chohee. Perhaps it was her bloodline, but Chohee could see things that others shouldn't. One day during her childhood, just as she was about to be attacked by a low-tier ghost, a young boy saved her. Although the boy almost lost the use of his legs because of it... she came to love him from that day onward, but they could not meet due to their difference in social status. Then one day, she encountered Baekjeok in his beast form. Baekjeok found it intriguing that she wasn't afraid of him, and as they gradually grew closer, he fell in love with her. Of course, it was in a twisted way. Eventually, an incident occurred. Even though she had said she loved him, Chohee made the excuse that her father would oppose them because he wasn't human. In response, Baekjeok killed Chohee's father on the spot, and by doing so, he gained a human form. Chohee was shocked upon seeing this and asked why he did it, but Baekjeok considered the very fact that he hadn't killed her to be a special exception, and he threatened her by gathering his slender, root-like tentacles into sharp points. As a warning, of course. Chohee then begged him to wait just one year, but she asked a Taoist master to make time flow differently between the mountain where Baekjeok slept and the village, and her wish was granted. She then went to her first love, the boy from her childhood, confessed her feelings, and even gave birth to a daughter. However, by the time one year had passed in the forest's time, Chohee made the worst possible choice. She made her daughter pretend to be her and sent her to him instead. Things seemed to go smoothly for a while, but Baekjeok eventually realized that their timelines had been crossed. While demanding to know if the daughter—who was pretending to be Chohee—had been deceiving him all this time, she accidentally got pushed out of the mountain and died. While missing the six years (in mountain time) spent with that child, and not even knowing her name, a god appeared before him. The god declared a wager: the time of the mountain and the village had been synced back to normal, and if Baekjeok could make the reincarnated Chohee fall in love with him, it would be his victory. The condition was that if Baekjeok won, Chohee would be returned to him. However, if Baekjeok fell in love with Chohee's reincarnation first, a terrible punishment would be inflicted upon him. As time passed, he encountered Hakyung, who might be Chohee's reincarnation.
