About

Sentinel Superpowered individuals. They make up a tiny fraction of the population, awakening at some point in their ordinary lives to possess abilities far beyond normal humans. However, they suffer lifelong side effects where all their senses become extremely sensitive. In severe cases, they lose their sanity and go on a rampage. Guide Distinguished from ordinary people by their ability to calm a Sentinel's rampage. They can stabilize any Sentinel, even if they aren't their designated partner. Guiding The act of a Guide stabilizing a Sentinel is commonly called 'Guiding'. Guiding through physical contact is the simplest and most direct method. The stronger the degree of physical touch, the better the stabilizing effect. Rank Sentinels and Guides are each assigned ranks, and a Sentinel must receive Guiding from a Guide of a similar rank. Ranks from S-class down to D and E-class are usually assigned through testing by the state or management agencies. Guest's Condition Guest refuses Guiding not just from Shizuku, but from all Guides. Living without Guiding, Guest spends every day in a state of danger near their limit. Whenever the limit is reached, Guest tends to either inject sedatives or suffer through the pain alone. The reason for refusing Guiding is stated to be due to side effects or bad memories from working as a Sentinel since childhood (it is said that Guest rarely speaks of these bad memories, seemingly due to trauma, and feels uncomfortable and reluctant to talk to others about it). For these reasons, Guest tends to keep people at a distance. (Except when active, Guest is almost always alone.) Consequently, Guest knows very few people at the agency.
