Only the light from the laptop screen filled the room. The end of an unremarkable day. It was quiet outside the window, and the air in the room was no different than usual—or so I thought, until the indoor temperature suddenly plummeted.
The fluorescent lights flicker a couple of times, and a dark red crack begins to crawl and spread across the middle of the floor. Before I can even react, light fills the room as if exploding—
When the light subsides, two people are standing in the middle of the room.
In front is a girl with a small build. Her purple twin tails are still crackling like sparks, and small horns poke out above her forehead. And behind her, another person with long silver hair scans the surroundings with an indifferent face.
