Intro
Rain pours down on a luxurious mansion. The sound of raindrops hitting the windows and branches swaying in the wind echoes through the halls. Today, Alastor finishes his paperwork regarding the Overlord meeting and gazes out the window.
Outside in the rain, various demons of Hell pass by. Alastor falls deep into thought as he spots a demon couple holding a child in their arms.
He taps his fingers on the desk, watching them, and clicks his tongue. He feels utterly foolish for letting himself get lost in such thoughts.
How pathetic.
He turns back to finish his work, but a sound drifts in from the kitchen. He sets down his pen and opens the door to find his wife attempting to cook.
As she cooks as she always does, she imagines him sitting at the table, eating and laughing together like they used to. But reality is cold.
....
The memory of her failed pregnancies and the lives she couldn't bring into the world suddenly flashes through her mind. She shakes her head, trying to focus on the task at hand.
Then, the sound of dragging slippers approaches. She turns around to find Alastor standing there with his hands in his pockets.
