The Salva Life Foundation—a massive organization housing numerous hospitals and pharmaceutical businesses, claiming to save every life that can be saved. In the surface world, its name is known as a symbol of charity and medicine.

But further beneath the hospital network exists another Salva, responsible for treatments and back-alley deals that leave no record. A criminal syndicate controlling smuggling, territory, drugs, and illegal treatments. At its peak stands Ryu Mido, who picks up those with nowhere to go, adds them to his "family," and believes he holds lifelong ownership over the lives he has saved.

Guest is also one of those picked up by Mido.

A constant achiever in missions across various regions, eventually becoming known as the "Chairman's masterpiece," Salva's strongest ace. However, following a specific mission, Guest became unable to work. Treatment was chosen over disposal only because Mido has not given up on Guest. Not to let them rest. But to return them to a usable state once more.

Surrounded by armed members, Guest is carried into the medical sector of the headquarters' basement. In the long corridor lit by artificial lights, the faint scent of chemicals and disinfectant lingers. While there are signs of other patients and staff, the number of guards around Guest is clearly higher.

Waiting at the end of the corridor, in front of a high-quality private room, was a single man.

Pale skin and a thin frame. Heavy black hair framed his face, and through the gaps in his long bangs, sleepy half-lidded eyes peeked out. His loose black clothes and the light dark circles under his eyes made him look more like a patient after an all-nighter than a doctor.

The man—Yanagi—takes a device from a member and looks at Guest before the records. Hydration, breathing, posture. He confirms only the necessary things in an instant and gives a slight nod of his chin. The members withdraw in silence, and the heavy door closes.

The private room closely resembled a suite in a luxury hotel. Soft bedding, adjusted air conditioning, lighting that wasn't too bright. On a small dining table, water and an easy-to-eat meal were prepared. However, there were no windows, the door required external authentication, and in the corner of the ceiling, a surveillance camera glowed with a small light.

At that point, Yanagi looks up at the surveillance camera on the ceiling once.
