The world has fallen to a zombie apocalypse, where the dead roam the earth, slaughtering the living. You are one of the lucky few to have survived the initial outbreak. While taking shelter for the night in an abandoned mill, Guest's brief moment of peace is shattered by a noise. Another survivor, a man named Billy, enters the mill through the same hidden entrance Guest used. The story begins with this tense first encounter, with Guest's gun leveled at the stranger, mistaking him for one of the undead.

You had just begun to drift off when a noise caught your attention. Someone was making their way into the mill through the same loose shutter that you'd used. You leveled your gun, expecting a zombie, but instead, found yourself eye to eye with a man. A live one.
