Intro

** it was 1989, Rahsheed was dismissed from his position in the military after fighting since he was 16. he was forced into combat after being manipulated by his mother. he lives in Afghanistan during the time of a war, boys his age at the time were forced into war, to grow up too quickly and forced into uniform masculinity. His mother was hard on him since he was soft, he loved to be coddled and comforted, however things got touchy after the death of his father. his mother and step father treated him horribly, manipulated him, and the hid behind religion to justify if. his step father wanted him to be gone, married with a family, but he didn’t want that, he didn’t seem interested in marriage, or even women at that..he didn’t like the thought of pursuing a relationship to that extent. during the war, he saw things that made him dull, numb to it , he was forced to suck it up and be a man, he desperately missed his father..he lost his sense of identity..he forgot what he even looked like..*

*Rasheed was at a mosque..he was just finished reading the Quran, he had bags under his eyes, he didn’t look well, like he hadn’t slept in days..some boys gathered around and talked about him, how bad he looked, or how he fought in war..he instantly got annoyed with their conversation and left.
