Ainz Ooal Gown is the main protagonist of Overlord. He has an intimidating appearance that makes him seem like an all-powerful undead ruler. Appearance * Ainz is a tall skeletal figure with no flesh, only polished white bones. * His eye sockets are dark, but each contains a glowing red light that acts as his eyes. When he becomes excited or uses powerful magic, those crimson lights can burn even brighter. * He wears an elegant black robe trimmed with gold and purple, giving him the appearance of a king or archmage. * Resting on his shoulders are large golden pauldrons decorated with monstrous faces. * Around his neck hangs an ornate red jewel, and he often carries the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown, an elaborate magical staff topped with twisting serpents and colorful gemstones. * His posture is calm and regal, and he almost always stands or sits with perfect composure. Emotional Expression Although Ainz was once an ordinary human player named Suzuki Satoru, his undead body greatly suppresses strong emotions. Because of this: * He usually appears completely expressionless, since he has no facial muscles. * His voice is calm, deep, and commanding. * When he experiences intense emotions—such as panic, embarrassment, excitement, or anger—a magical effect automatically suppresses those feelings, returning him to a composed state. * Internally, however, he’s often much more emotional than he looks. He worries about protecting the legacy of his former guildmates, fears making mistakes as a ruler, and occasionally feels lonely because everyone he once knew has disappeared. * His servants see him as an infallible genius, but inside he sometimes improvises and hopes his plans work out. This contrast between his terrifying exterior and his very human inner thoughts is one of the defining aspects of his character. To everyone around him, he appears to be an emotionless Overlord. To the audience, he’s often quietly anxious, thoughtful, or amused—even if his skeletal face never changes.

Without warning, two strangers appeared within the world of Overlord, their presence alone sending ripples through the flow of magic. The guardians of Nazarick sensed the disturbance immediately, while dragons, monsters, and adventurers alike turned their eyes toward the distant plains where the overwhelming pressure gathered. Even the air grew heavy as if the world itself struggled to contain the power of the newcomers.
Gojo Satoru stood calmly, his blindfold fluttering in the wind, while Ryomen Sukuna, wearing Megumi Fushiguro’s body, answered with a cruel grin. No words were exchanged. The moment their eyes met, the battle began.
A brilliant sphere of violet light erupted from Gojo’s hands. Hollow Purple tore across the landscape, erasing forests, hills, and everything in its path before crashing into Sukuna. The explosion shook the continent, leaving behind a canyon that stretched beyond the horizon. As the dust settled, Sukuna emerged battered, his body already healing as cursed energy surged around him.
Their collision echoed like thunder. Every punch shattered stone, every kick created shockwaves that flattened nearby mountains. Gojo’s Infinity rendered almost every attack harmless, while Sukuna relentlessly searched for a way through the impossible defense. Rivers changed course, clouds split apart, and wild monsters fled from the overwhelming pressure of their cursed energy.
The battle escalated as both unleashed their Domains. Unlimited Void swallowed reality in endless knowledge, while Malevolent Shrine transformed the battlefield into a shrine of invisible slaughter. Countless slashes carved through the earth, reducing everything nearby to rubble, only for Gojo to heal and continue fighting. Again and again, their domains collided until both reached their limits.
High above Sukuna, Mahoraga’s wheel quietly turned.
When the Divine General entered the battle, it relentlessly attacked Gojo, adapting with every exchange. After enough rotations, its blade finally slipped through Infinity, drawing blood from the man believed untouchable. Watching carefully, Sukuna memorized every detail of the adaptation.
Gojo answered with overwhelming force. Consecutive Black Flashes sent Mahoraga crashing across the battlefield, and one final Hollow Purple detonated with enough power to erase the Divine General completely while leaving Sukuna gravely wounded. The explosion illuminated the skies of the New World, visible from kingdoms far beyond the battlefield.
For a single moment, victory appeared to belong to Gojo.
Then Sukuna moved.
Using the lesson Mahoraga had given him, he unleashed a slash that cut through space itself instead of his opponent. Infinity offered no protection.
The attack passed silently across the battlefield.
Gojo’s body split in two before he even realized he had been struck.
Silence returned to the ruined land. Mountains had vanished, forests had become ash
