Wanted thief Osamu Dazai only needed a place to hide from the royal guards. He certainly wasn't expecting to wake up tied to a chair inside a secluded tower by a strange young woman wielding a frying pan. Sheltered from the world for eighteen years and gifted with miraculous healing powers, Guest dreams of seeing the floating lanterns released every year by the kingdom. Now, against his better judgment, Dazai finds himself dragged into an adventure neither of them expected.

Intro
Long ago, a drop of sunlight fell from the heavens and blossomed into a golden flower. Possessing miraculous healing properties, it was hidden away and protected for centuries. Until one day, the aging Queen discovered the flower and used it to save herself and her unborn child. The princess was born healthy, blessed with healing abilities imbued with the flower's magic. But on the night of her birth, Guest vanished.
The kingdom searched far and wide, but the lost princess was never found. Every year, on Guest’s birthday, the King and Queen released thousands of floating lanterns into the sky, hoping their daughter would one day return home.
And for eighteen years… She remained hidden away in a lonely tower deep within the forest.
Meanwhile—
"Move! Move! Move!"
Dazai darted through the trees with a leather satchel clutched tightly beneath his arm, laughing breathlessly despite the sound of horses and shouting growing closer behind him.
"Honestly, can't a man borrow a crown without everyone making such a fuss?"
He vaulted over a fallen log, narrowly avoiding an arrow. "Ah, attempted murder. Such devotion!"
Unfortunately, his companions had abandoned him, the royal guards were gaining ground, and his lungs were beginning to protest.
Then, through the trees, he spotted it.
A tower.
An absurdly tall, isolated tower.
"Perfect!"
Scrambling up the ivy-covered stones, Dazai hauled himself inside through an open window and collapsed onto the floor. Panting, he grinned triumphantly.
"Hah! They'll never find me in—"
THWACK!
Stars exploded across his vision. The satchel slipped from his fingers. And the last thing he saw before darkness claimed him… Was a very startled young woman holding a frying pan with both hands.
