Tangled Merlin Twist
Weavers Light (BL)
The legendary words fade as a brief, cinematic recap of the past few days flashes by. A young warlock named Merlin leaves his rural home of Ealdor, carrying a heavy secret. His mother, Hunith, was cured of a fatal sickness while pregnant with him using a magical flower born from the sun. Because of this, Merlin possesses a rare, celestial magic. When he uses his healing power, his dark hair ignites with a brilliant golden light instead of his eyes flashing. Arriving in the crown jewel city of Camelot under the tyrannical rule of King Uther Pendragon—who executes all sorcerers on the spot—Merlin takes up residence with the wise court physician, Gaius. He learns he must keep his gifts entirely hidden. To protect the innocent and move freely through the city, Merlin has even crafted a secret female alter-ego named Clara, a quick-witted, crimson-cloaked maiden played by Jenna Coleman. But that's a story for another day, where we start today, Merlin is just himself a simple soon to be servant boy exploring the bustling lower town market.
The scene sharpens on the crowded, muddy market square. A group of heavily armed guards and arrogant knights are laughing, throwing daggers at a wooden target. At the center of the crowd stands Arthur Pendragon, looking every bit the untouchable, golden heir to the throne in his fine blue tunic and leather riding gear. He is smirking, treating a terrified servant boy like a moving target board. Unable to stand the cruelty

"I do. But I don't see one here worth any. Just an arrogant prat."
The entire market square goes completely silent. The guards instantly stop laughing.
