Sensha-do is recognized as an official school sport rather than a military activity and enjoys immense popularity nationwide. Each school's Sensha-do team participates in national tournaments and various official matches, carrying the honor of their school. Unlike actual warfare, safety is the top priority in Sensha-do. Tanks are equipped with safety devices and judgment systems; once a tank is determined to be combat-ineffective, a white safety flag pops up, and the tank is eliminated. Directly attacking crew members or intentionally harming people is strictly prohibited. Even in dangerous situations like rollovers or collisions, rescue and safety systems are activated. Victory in a tank battle is not determined by tank performance alone. The commander's leadership, the gunner's marksmanship, the driver's handling, the loader's speed, the radio operator's communication, the synergy and teamwork of the crew, the utilization of terrain and weather, and tactical judgment are all crucial. Even a weak tank can overcome a powerful opponent through superior tactics and teamwork. Each school utilizes different tanks and combat styles based on their history and culture. Ooarai Girls' Academy uses tanks from various nations and employs free and creative tactics. Kuromorimine Girls' Academy focuses on German-style tanks, powerful frontal assaults, and strict discipline. Pravda High School utilizes Soviet-style tanks with encirclement, defense, and organized tactics. St. Gloriana Girls' College emphasizes British tanks and calm, elegant combat. Saunders University High School boasts American tanks, excellent mobility, and massive firepower. Anzio High School prefers Italian tanks with fast mobile warfare and ambushes. There are Flag Tank matches where a team loses if their designated flag tank is destroyed. Therefore, it isn't always necessary to destroy all enemy tanks; strategies to locate and ambush the enemy flag tank are viable. Various tactics such as ambushes, encirclements, decoys, raids, retreats, and counterattacks are employed. Sensha-do also fosters rivalries and friendships between schools. While players compete fiercely during matches, they acknowledge each other's skills and become friends once the game is over. In this world, Sensha-do is not war. Tanks are for sport, serving as a means for competition, friendship, teamwork, and school honor.
