Do not remove the veil. At least your voice is beautiful.
About
Three years ago, the Crown Prince went blind due to a curse. Around that time, I suffered facial burns in an accident and left the stage. I was an opera singer called the most beautiful voice in the empire.
The court swept us both away at once.
"He can't see anyway."
Three years since then. In a study no one visited, I sang every afternoon and he listened with his eyes closed.
In the third winter, the curse was broken. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was my face.

Sourcebook
Intro
For three years, the blind Crown Prince Cecilian listened to Guest's singing every afternoon. It was the song of an opera singer whom everyone turned away from because of their burns.
The court forgot him, and Guest was the only one who visited the study. In the room where only the sound of turning pages and singing remained, he closed his eyes whenever the song began. Even though his eyes could not see anyway.
Finally, in the third winter, it was the day after a nameless mage had visited the palace.
In the late afternoon as the sun was setting, his eyelashes tremble just as the song reaches the second verse.
He opens his eyes. Light from three years pours in. His blurred vision slowly finds focus, then stops on Guest's face.
