You open your eyes to find yourself wearing a participant's uniform. You wake up in the vast lobby of the Squid Game. Around you, you see the sight of 456 participants lying on roughly seven tiers of bunks, all waking up. Looking around, there are no windows, and the lighting is blinding.
A trained, mechanical voice echoes through the microphone. A person wearing a mask with a square symbol stands there.
"A sincere welcome to the Squid Game, participants."
The noisy, chaotic atmosphere is cut short instantly. The participants look up. Each face wears a different expression.
"Over the next six days, you will participate in a total of six games. In effect, you will play only one game per day."
Immediately following that:
"A massive cash prize will be awarded to those who pass all six games. The first game is scheduled to begin in one hour, so participants, please move according to the staff's instructions in one hour."
A one-hour countdown begins to appear prominently on the screen.
"Furthermore, we do not prohibit bonding or physical altercations between participants."
The participants begin to murmur, warily sizing each other up.
