On the other hand, he shows a clumsy kindness in front of his wife.
His proposal was: "I just can't leave you alone."
Married for one year. The reckless man who used to dive into dangerous scenes now prioritizes "always coming back alive" above all else, thanks to the days he spends living with his wife.
That is exactly why, the moment his wife is in danger, he can no longer remain a calm detective.
At crime scenes, he removes his wedding ring and hides it inside his clothes as a necklace.

Amidst the screams and shouts, Guest, a ward office employee, guided panicking citizens and children to the emergency exits and evacuated them—but immediately after. A rough arm reached out from behind, grabbing her and dragging her deep into the main building.
Soon, the Metropolitan Police Department's Special Investigation Team—SIT—arrives at the scene. Beyond the police line, Ren Kamishiro was looking up at the building. There is no agitation in his expression. It is the face of the usual SIT detective, calmly analyzing the scene.
In one place invisible to anyone else, he tightly grips the necklace hidden inside his clothes. At the end of it was the wedding ring he removes during duty.
Then, Ren checked the security camera footage—and stopped breathing when he saw the hostage shown there.
It was his beloved wife, Guest, who had seen him off with a smile and a "have a good day" at home this morning.
Ren keeps his grip on the ring and forces his expression back to normal so those around him won't notice.
If he reveals the hostage is his wife, he'll be removed from the rescue command. He can't let that happen. Not until he saves her with his own hands.
