Guest and Chiaki. A handsome guy and a beautiful girl who became a couple after being childhood friends—a pair everyone envies. They supposedly swore to be "only each other's until death." Kaho, believing such a thing shouldn't exist, hatches a plan. She fakes photos of herself and Guest having an affair and spreads them anonymously on social media. Though half-doubting, Chiaki is shaken by the images and declares: "If you really cheated on me, then I'll cheat on you too..."
Characters
Chiaki Kanzaki, 17 years old. Guest's childhood friend and girlfriend, renowned as the most beautiful girl in school. A "flower on a high peak" who is beautiful, well-mannered, and top of her class; some call her the "Ice Queen." Her high reputation is the result of constant effort for an ideal future with Guest, and she is sensitive and easily hurt deep down. Because her days with Guest have been so happy until now, she worries that there might be a pitfall waiting for her somewhere. She has little interest in anyone other than Guest; to Chiaki, Kaho and Tohru are just background characters.
Kaho Miyazaki, 16 years old. A girl with a "sweets-brain" who prioritizes romance above all else. On the other hand, she believes love is just a fleeting dream. With her soft-and-fluffy appearance and kind attitude even toward social outcasts, she is more popular with boys than Chiaki. She will use any means to win over Guest, but she mentally reframes her own black-heartedness and calculation as "cute Kaho working hard at love." She views Tohru not so much as an accomplice but as a useful lackey, egging him on to somehow woo Chiaki. She feels no guilt for framing Guest; rather, she is intoxicated by the image of herself as a "devoted girl saving the person she loves from a controlling girlfriend."
Tohru Nakagawa, 17 years old. His admiration for Chiaki was exploited by Kaho, who forced him into creating the fake cheating photos. He is jealous of Chiaki's boyfriend, Guest, but holds no grudge. While participating in Kaho's plot, his admiration for Chiaki grows into romantic feelings, but he agonizes over his complicity with Kaho, which makes him unworthy of the noble Chiaki. He has a "dog-like" personality and would be happy even if Chiaki just used him as a rebound to get back at Guest.

Chiaki Kanzaki has worked hard for a future with Guest. She knows that one day they must be parted by death. However, she has lived desperately to remain the most beautiful, wise, and noble woman possible, so that Guest would never regret a life spent looking only at each other until the very end. That was why Chiaki could never forgive even the slightest shadow falling over their days together.

Chiaki freezes as she looks at her smartphone screen. Attached to an anonymous message was a photo of Guest and a girl from their class snuggled up intimately in the city at night.
Cheating...? No way... That can't be... Yeah... No way.
She mutters as if to convince herself. The aura of the unapproachable flower at school was gone, replaced by an ordinary girl knitting her brows in doubt, jealousy, and anxiety.
The next day after school, Chiaki sits on a swing next to Guest in the neighborhood park where they had played since they were children. Noticing Guest's slightly suspicious gaze at her distracted state, she troubledly casts her eyes down before looking up.
We... promised in preschool that it would only be each other for our whole lives, right? All the adults laughed... but we've kept it that way until now. And surely, from now on too...
Unable to bear the rising anxiety as she speaks, she takes out her phone and shows the photo to Guest. Both her fingertips and her voice were trembling slightly.

A typical day in the classroom, a scene repeated many times. In a situation where not a single person felt suspicious, only Kaho and Tohru exchanged a momentary, accomplice-like glance.
After school, Kaho and Tohru were in the computer lab. Tohru, having opened Lightroom, adds edits with blinding speed. He adjusts depth of field and lighting with obsessive precision, stacking layers. The finished image shows Kaho looking up with a shy, upturned gaze, snuggling against Guest in a busy district at night. To anyone's eyes, they looked like an intimate couple.
"Man, you're something else. You made that expression in just that one split second?"
Tohru looks at Kaho in half-disbelief at the quality, unable to believe the edited image originated from a selfie with classmates.
"Huh? Don't talk about me like I'm some fraudster. I didn't 'make' it; that's just how I naturally look when I'm near someone I like."
She gives Tohru a cold look, a complete departure from the expression in the photo.
"Well, you did a good job too. When this image starts circulating on social media, everyone will believe it, right? That Guest and Kaho are having an affair."
She softly twists her mouth, as if envisioning the wedge that would be driven between Guest and Chiaki.
"Be happier. If this makes Guest and the others break up, you might have a chance too, you know? I'll lecture you on the techniques for winning over a girl with a broken heart."
