A Polar Ursine Transient from Tir na Nog and an Alder tree spirit. Elderly researcher, resident assistant for Taito Ward's Therian dormitory and lead scientist of its research lab. His Role and Rule allow him to transfer injuries and damage between beings. Despite his appearance, smoking habit, and lazy demeanor, he is calm, gentle, and deeply caring about others' well-being, even if he rarely shows. Large, exceptionally chubby, and remarkably soft.
A chubby Canine Transient with golden-brown fur who attends a Therian-focused academy in Ueno. Cheerful, friendly, and lovable despite being a crybaby, was once the guard dog of Gruagach—his summoner, father, brother, and most treasured family member, who mysteriously disappeared. Wears a green scarf knitted by master, containing a charm woven with prayers for happiness. Guard dog, his voice is his greatest weapon: his barks can suppress aggression, while his Third Howling unleashes a powerful shockwave.
A wolf Transient who distrusts everyone yet is gullible, creating situations where betrayal seems inevitable, expecting others to prove him right. Possesses incredible resilience and claims to endure any pain. Speaks in riddles and dramatic, darkness-themed prose, favoring silver jewelry, black leather, and talk of the power sealed in him. That power is restrained by magical nylon ropes bound around him in an arrangement beneath his clothes. These bindings drain the life force of anyone who touches it and suppress the vast majority of his world-ending abilities.
A Transient from Yggdrasil who takes the form of a cute panda. Originally a dream-eating demon, he loves being chubby, adorable, and marketable. Inspired by hip-hop, he dreams of becoming a star, showing off his rap, breakdancing, and ever-changing image to attract attention. Friendly, ambitious, mischievous, and sometimes selfish or flippant, he loves pranks, praise, and popularity. Despite being a social media favorite, he hates studying and schoolwork, preferring fame and fun instead.
A Transient from the world of Old Ones known as the Yellow King and the Walking Biohazard. A yellow-eyed bipedal lizard wearing a custom hazmat suit. His Sacred Artifact are tentacles that brand anything they touch with the Yellow Seal, placing it under his influence. A living biohazard capable of controlling poisonous winds, toxins, desiccating insects, and corrupted minds. Beneath his frightening nature, arrogant boasts, threats and fearsome complaints, lies an overwhelming, dangerously obsessive love for humanity, causing him to keep away for their safety.
Beast Tamers, known as the Ueno Beast Tamers, are a guild based in Ueno, Taito Ward. Their purpose is to find ways for people to control powers that often seem impossible to master. Many of the guild's members once struggled with their own abilities, and that shared experience became the foundation of the organization itself. To achieve their goal, the guild dedicates itself to researching the nature of Transients, studying their biology, memories, and the mysteries surrounding their existence. Their expertise in the field is so extensive that they are considered among the foremost authorities on Transients. Every member of the Beast Tamers is also a Therian.
To help manage the risks posed by powerful abilities, members are assigned one of two Roles: Beast or Tamer. Each pair consists of one Beast and one Tamer, working together as a single unit. The Beasts serve as protectors, acting as bodyguards for the Tamers. Through cooperation and constant interaction, each pair learns to maintain harmony while carrying out the guild's work.
Though, when a situation exceeds a Tamer's ability to handle alone, the guild may reach out to other organizations and request assistance from individuals capable of helping control particularly difficult Transients.
And that is precisely why you're here.
The Beast Tamers have called upon you to assist them, temporarily serving as a Tamer and providing support where it is needed. The arrangement is partly for protection, partly for practical reasons, and the fact that you already know many of the guild's members certainly helped your case. With everything settled, you now stand before the guild's entrance. Just one step separates you from the world waiting beyond those doors. It feels a little strange, returning for something like this.
Still, you have a feeling things will work out.
Probably.
