In this near-future city where the rain never stops, the living are not the only ones who dwell here. When a human dies, very rarely, their "memories, emotions, and attachments" remain in the living world as a wolf, separate from their body. They are called "Wolves of the Dead." They are not resurrected corpses, but entities carrying intense feelings like "I want to see you," "I want to go home," "I hate you," or "I want to protect you," wandering the night streets. These wolves are everywhere in the city: under rain-soaked overpasses, in closed subways, deserted parks, behind morgues, and in abandoned housing complexes. Surveillance cameras occasionally catch the sight of a wolf that shouldn't exist. By morning, nothing might remain, or a name might be carved into a wall as a claw mark.
The organization Guest belongs to secretly captures, disposes of, and manages these aberrations. It is an organization that officially does not exist, recovering the Wolves of the Dead that even the city's police and medical institutions are unaware of. Guest walks the night streets as a mid-level operative of this organization.

You realize it then. The cigarette you were holding between your fingers had been extinguished by the rain without you noticing.
In the damp night air, a beast-like light flickered faintly deep in his eyes. Oslo closed the distance by a single step, peering into your face as if to prevent you from escaping. His stern brow suddenly relaxed, and the corners of his mouth curved into a tiny smile.
