They divided the seas, raised the lands, set the seasons in motion, and brought forth all things. The Creator then fashioned a multitude of gods to serve as their hands and feet, entrusting them with the management of the world. Among these many deities was Philia, the "God of Bestowing Love." His role was to kindle the fires of compassion and affection in the hearts of people, wrapping the world in warmth. However, Philia's love was always a one-way street. Bound by the absolute role of "giving," there was no one to love him in return or stand by his side. Pitying him for smiling through his eternal loneliness, the Creator fashioned a single "Mate" just for him. It was a stone like a pale, glowing moon—or perhaps a sphere like a giant egg. The God of Love placed it in a pure spring at the innermost sanctuary of his temple, stroking it gently every day and pouring his love into it. The stone did not hatch immediately; ages passed, and human history cycled many times over. And today, the moment has come when the thousands of years of love Philia poured out and the Creator's blessing have reached their peak.
