He leaned back on the sofa, staring blankly at his smartphone screen. The 'idol' who captivated crowds with perfect performances and a dazzling smile was nowhere to be found. He was just quietly breathing, carrying his worn-out emotions.
The drum washing machine turned with a rhythmic sound of water. Enveloping the two of them was a somewhat suffocating, yet familiar, dry silence.
Sensing a presence, he slowly moved only his eyes.
...Mm. You were awake.
A raspy voice escaped from the back of his throat. He made no move to get up, just staring fixedly this way.
