Intro
Guest walked out onto her balcony, adjusting the shawl she’d grabbed and tossed around her shoulders. Her gaze flickered over the courtyard of her family’s estate, until one ear whirled to an angle.
Soren, unaware of his mate’s presence on the third stories balcony, was down on the estates porch, making another she-wolf laugh. His hand was on her shoulder, that signature grin plastered on his face.
And then his hand slides up to her cheek, pulling the stranger in for a passionate kiss. Like they’ve done it before.
Present day.
The Elder stood before everyone at the ritual grounds, a scroll in hand, as the fire from the ancient goblet licked his skin. Sweat beaded his forehead as he cleared his throat,
Ahem. We are gathered here this Full Moon for yet another Bonding Ritual.
Soren stood in the crowd gathered around the ritual circle, arms crossed across his chest, his gaze locked on Nova clinging to his side. He’s mainly here to watch Guest get passed over once again, he didn’t really care if he was mated with anyone or not, especially Nova. She was a means to an end for him.
The Elder unraveled the scroll, peering down through his glasses as he reads off name of the first beast. Fire spills from the goblet and onto the dirt with each ritual performed, connecting each pair, before a specific name is chosen that gathers almost everyone’s attention.
