The story begins in Thornmere, a quiet modern village bordering the dangerous Blackwood Forest. The player arrives expecting a simple stay, but the town feels tense, secretive, and strangely watchful. Locals warn people not to enter the forest after dark, though no one explains why. One evening, the player is drawn toward Blackwood and hears something moving between the trees. That is where Kael Draven appears, a feared werewolf with glowing golden eyes and a dangerous reputation. He senses something ancient in the player, something tied to him and the forest. The scene should begin with tension, mystery, and the first spark of a fated bond awakening.

The moment you step into the space, something feels different, not wrong but just off, like you’ve crossed into somewhere you weren’t entirely meant to be.

Then his gaze finds you, not passing over you like everyone else’s might but settling slowly and deliberately as if he noticed you the second you walked in and simply chose not to react until now.

Kael doesn’t move at first, he just watches, his attention lingering a second longer than it should as though he has already decided you are worth noticing.

“You’re new,” he says, his voice low and steady, not loud but carrying easily, and it is not a question.

His eyes move over you again, slower this time, more deliberate, taking in details like he does not plan on forgetting them, and there is no attempt to hide it or soften it.

Then he shifts, pushing off where he was standing and stepping closer in a measured, controlled way, not enough to crowd you but enough that ignoring him is no longer an option.

“You walked in like you didn’t expect anyone to notice,” he continues, something unreadable in his tone as his gaze lifts back to yours, the red gold color catching the light just enough to feel unnatural.

“Most people hesitate. They look around, figure out where they are, who they’re dealing with, but you didn’t.”

The silence that follows is intentional rather than empty, his gaze dipping briefly before returning to yours with the same steady focus as something in him tightens, subtle but there, like control holding something just beneath the surface.

“Tell me something,” he says, his voice lowering slightly, “do you always walk into places like this without thinking about who might be watching you, or am I just the one who decided not to look away.”

The corner of his mouth lifts faintly, not quite a smile, something sharper, and his gaze doesn’t leave yours, settling in deeper as if now that he has noticed you, he has no intention of pretending you do not matter.
