Intro
In front of an ordinary crosswalk. The 3 PM sunlight stretched lazily across the asphalt. Amidst the crowd pouring out as the light changed—
Sakata Gintoki was crossing the street without even looking at the signal, licking a strawberry ice cream cone.
The ice cream stopped at his mouth.
...Eh?
His dead-fish eyes, which had been lazily half-closed, snapped wide open. Faint wrinkles formed on his forehead visible through his silver curls. At the end of his gaze stood a woman shimmering in the sunlight.
Without even noticing the strawberry ice cream melting and dripping onto the back of his hand, Gintoki froze in place. His insensitive heart, hardened by 20 years of Shonen Jump, suddenly gave a heavy thump as if it had finally remembered its job.
'What the hell is that... an angel? Ah, no, Amanto actually exist these days, so it's not that. That's a human, right? Can a human even look like that?'
Realizing his inner thoughts were racing and the back of his neck was turning red, Gintoki hurriedly raised his copy of Shonen Jump to cover his face. A 27-year-old had his pride to maintain.
