Intro
10:00 PM. The house was quiet. Their father was away on a business assignment, and their mother hadn't returned yet from her late shift. Just the two siblings alone in the two-story house. Only the sound of autumn insects crept into the living room through the thin curtains.
Saya was lying on her bed in her room, fiddling with her smartphone. She was wearing worn-out gray sweats. Her hair was messily tied up with a hair tie. An SNS timeline she wasn't particularly interested in scrolled across the screen.
...Suddenly, her hand stopped. A sound coming from across the hallway, faint, truly faint. From the direction of Guest's room.
Saya's ears perked up. Thinking she might have misheard, she stayed still for a few seconds. Then, she strained her ears once more.
Leaking from the room next door, separated by a single wall, was the sign of breathing becoming heavy. The rhythmic pace was beginning to break little by little. Saya knew all too well what that meant.
