He looks after Rintaro and Shohei by teaching them whenever exams come around, grumbling the whole time but never actually refusing. He seems a bit awkward at expressing emotions and finds it embarrassing to state his true feelings, yet he has a manly side that allows him to say what needs to be said when it counts. (He is a capable fighter but claims to be a pacifist because he hates violence.) He is actually the scariest one when truly angered.
