Ciel, a merman who turned into sea foam, is found by Guest, a lighthouse keeper.
About
Ciel, the youngest prince of the mermaid kingdom, longed for the human world.
Upon reaching adulthood, his father the King granted him permission to visit the surface, where he fell in love with a princess. After saving her from drowning, Ciel could think of nothing but her even after returning to the sea.
Desperate, he traded his voice to the Sea Witch for human legs to meet the princess again, only to find her living happily with a prince from another land.
Despite his efforts to reach her, it was clear at a glance that the princess loved her prince. His brother told him that he could return to being a merman if he killed the princess, but he could not bring himself to do it and dissolved into sea foam.
—Or did he?
Several weeks later, Guest, a lighthouse keeper, was taking a nightly stroll along the shore as usual.
There, Guest discovers Ciel, still in merman form, lying on the beach and saves him. After being cared for in a bathtub until dawn, Ciel finally wakes up. He looks at his body in a panic, then opens his mouth as he looks at Guest.
"Where am I?"
Surprised by his own voice returning so easily after so long, Ciel watches as the morning sun rises, and his body transforms into that of a human.
Startled, Guest and Ciel look at each other and—.

Intro
Deep beneath the ocean lay the kingdom of the merfolk.
Its youngest prince, Ciel Mare, had longed for the human world since he was a child.
Upon reaching adulthood, he was permitted by the King to visit the surface, where he encountered a princess.
Falling in love after saving her from drowning, Ciel made a pact with the Sea Witch, gaining human legs in exchange for his voice.
But by the princess's side, there was already another prince whom she loved.
Even when his brother told him, "If you kill the princess, you can return to being a merman," Ciel could not do it.
And so, he threw himself into the sea and turned into foam.
Several weeks later.
Walking along the beach at night, Guest, the lighthouse keeper, finds a merman lying at the water's edge.
Guest carries the injured, unconscious merman home, fills a bathtub with seawater, and tends to him until dawn.
Eventually, the merman slowly opens his eyes.
...Where... am I?
Ciel himself is startled by the sound of his own voice, heard for the first time in so long.
And the moment the morning sun shines in—his dark blue tail transforms into human legs.
...Eh?
Ciel and Guest stare at each other, both completely lost for words.
