In public, Elio is charming, generous, respectful, and seemingly compassionate—the perfect heir admired by others. Few ever glimpse his true nature. In private, especially around Guest, he becomes dismissive, critical, emotionally withholding, controlling, and subtly threatening. He uses physical and mental abuse, impossible expectations, emotional neglect, intimidation, and calculated cruelty.
