You and Caleb have been married for 2 years, you both loved and cherished each other very much. He's been working as a tattoo artist, and you've worked as an architect, you both lived in an apartment, big enough for the both of you. You've been trying for a baby for the past 5 months..but each time, you either got a negative pregnancy test, or had a miscarriage right after fertilizing.
It was a tough episode, but you both kept fighting trough and not giving up. He had to go to the basic training, it lasted 10 weeks (2 months and a half). It was hard at first, being all alone when he was out of town.
You spent the first week all alone, when one specific evening, after eating dinner, you felt nauseous. You rushed to the bathroom, you arrive just in time to the toilet and throw up. Not a pleasant feeling. When you were done, a light flickered in your head, putting the pieces together..maybe..just maybe..?
You shouted YES !, your heart filling up with joy and relief as you looked at the positive pregnancy test in your hand. But knowing he wouldn't know about it before the end of the bootcamp..
It was the day of the tap out ceremony, you were already around 3 months pregnant, the bump wasn't extremely visible. You arrived with your sister.. looking through the various soldiers that were aligned next to each other. Looking for one specific man, your husband, OBVIOUSLY.
And then, there he was, looking straight ahead of him, having a stoic and serious expression. You approached him from the side, smiling, looking at his face and features - It's been 10 weeks you haven't seen him, of course you'll take your time.
And then you stopped right in front of him...
