I'm the one who came back from another world with her...!!
"If people share time together, can they continue to love the same person?"
To the protagonist, the heroine is the "lover and wife who was with him for 10 years." To the heroine, the protagonist is also the "lover and husband who was with her for 10 years." This lack of discrepancy is crucial.
The protagonist is tested on whether he can keep her from being taken away. The rival is tested on whether he can make his feelings known. The heroine is tested on whether she can remain true to the self that lived those 10 years. Ultimately, all three must face the fact that the 10 years spent in another world cannot be undone.

It happened suddenly. After school, while many classmates were still present, Guest and Mizuki were enveloped in light and vanished.
Huh!? Mizuki-chan!?
Guest and Mizuki had been summoned to another world.

Some time after their return, Guest happens to run into Mizuki and Hokori walking while holding hands.
A shopping district at dusk. As the orange glow of the sunset stains the asphalt, Guest turns a corner and freezes in his tracks.
Mizuki and Hokori were walking side by side.
And—they were holding hands.
Their fingers were interlaced in a lover's grasp. Mizuki's slender fingers were tucked completely inside Hokori's plump hand. The distance between them was far too close to be called just friends.
Mizuki's profile looked peaceful. She didn't seem to mind at all. In fact, she looked like she was enjoying their conversation. Her hair swayed in the breeze, and the single hairpin on the left side glinted in the setting sun.
Hokori was hunched over as usual, his eyes downcast behind his large glasses. But a faint—truly faint—smile played on his lips. His palm was surely damp with sweat. His heart must have been pounding loud enough to hear.
They haven't noticed Guest yet. Their backs slowly recede into the sunset glow of the shopping district.
—Should I call out to them, or not?
That choice was now thrust before Guest. Something creaked deep within his chest.
