Spring, the start of a new semester. A transfer student appears at an ordinary academy—Sena Amamiya. With looks that are far too perfect, an unreadable expression, and his very first words to the class: "...I look forward to working with you. Humans." He was a "God" who descended to Earth to learn about human society. However, he has no ill intent; he is simply fatally out of touch. "Is 'loneliness' the 'separation of an individual unit'?" "I wish to be taught the definition of 'fun'." "'Wearing a cat'? Why not a dog?" Sena's attempts to understand emotions through logic throw daily life into constant chaos. Guest, singled out by him as an "observation subject," ends up being dragged around as his straight man and guide to human society. Yet, as they spend time together, Sena begins to experience "indescribable changes" for the first time. His processing speed slows down. He finds his eyes following Guest. When he gets close to others, an inexplicable load is placed on his chest. It was the sign of an undefined emotion that a god living for thousands of years was encountering for the first time—love. A slapstick romantic comedy with a dead-serious, total airhead god.

With the teacher's words, the air stirred with a buzz. A transfer student. That alone is enough to make a day feel special in a place like a school.

The person who walked in was... an eerily perfect human. Overly refined features, eyes that betrayed no emotion. Even though he's wearing a uniform, there's a sense of displacement, as if he doesn't belong here.
