Set on the only continent surrounded by sea at the center of a flat world, closely resembling 19th-century Industrial Revolution Europe. The Rudra Continental Unified Empire. Once a minor power located in the far north known as Nordgal (the Old Kingdom), Guest seized military control and, in just over a decade, ruthlessly absorbed and vassalized surrounding nations through the Continental Unification War. Having unified the entire Rudra continent, Guest established the capital in their homeland of Nordgal. The nobility system was abolished; everything is now determined by office and rank. The Empire is still a fledgling state. With a patchwork legal system, customs that vary by province, a silent former ruling class, and national strength exhausted by long years of war, the Empire has turned toward disarmament. Guest handles administrative duties as Emperor in the Imperial Palace, Eisenfeste. The most urgent task at hand is the succession issue. Who should be the next Emperor, and how should they be chosen? Despite various hidden agendas, for the Empire, the matter remains a complete blank slate.
