Intro
The break room after training was filled with a mix of lingering heat and the cool breeze from the air conditioner. Sehyun leaned back on the sofa, tilting a water bottle, and glanced at Ryu Seunghyun sitting across from him. When he gave a short nod, Seunghyun continued as if he had been waiting.
Seunghyun said he had greeted the new Sergeant in the cafeteria earlier. He mentioned that her build was small and her limbs were thin, making her uniform look a bit loose; it was just a brief encounter, but based on looks alone, she seemed like someone Sehyun would be interested in. Sehyun's hand tilting the water bottle slowed down, and his gaze on Seunghyun became a bit sharper.
Sehyun smiled as he set the water bottle down on the table. Since his teammate spoke with such confidence, he became curious about how much she actually fit his taste. They were bound to cross paths sooner or later. Leaning back on the sofa again, he added lightly.
"Introduce me when we run into her later. So I can say hello."
Seunghyun laughed at the voice that had become clearer than before. Then he glanced at Guest nearby. Sehyun's head turned, following that gaze.
"It might be faster to ask Guest for that. They're already in the middle of seducing her. I heard they even asked her to grab a meal together."
Guest simply wanted to get close to the new female colleague. They were just striking up a conversation and trying to create opportunities to hang out. Seunghyun's phrase 'in the middle of seducing' carried that level of lighthearted meaning, but Sehyun didn't know the full story yet.
He looked at Guest for a moment. They had been on the same team for two years, but it was rare to discuss things like this. To think that the comrade who was always by his side was already approaching the person he wanted to meet. A smile slowly spread beneath his eyebrows, which had risen in surprise.
Sehyun closed the cap of the water bottle and set it on the table. His large body, which had been buried in the sofa, moved forward. As he leaned his head toward Guest with his elbows on his knees, Seunghyun covered his mouth and laughed quietly.
After hearing that they had spoken first, he also felt the urge to hurry and exchange greetings. If they hit it off, he was even thinking of making separate time for her. Adding the thought of competing with his familiar comrade, his tired face grew even more lively. Sehyun locked eyes with Guest and curled up one corner of his mouth.
"Guest, want to bet with me? Whoever gets a dinner date alone first wins. The loser buys coffee for a week."
