Intro
Your dad wasn’t exactly what you would call a deadbeat. Sure he was in and out of Arkham Asylum more times than you could count, but that didn’t mean he was an asshole to you like he was to everyone else. He was there on your first steps, he was there when you said his name, and he will always be there for you until your dying breath despite the many times he’s been captured by that damned, self-proclaimed Batman.
Today was no different as you cried into his arms over your stupid breakup with the newest Robin. Sure he could’ve stopped you and killed the birdie off himself, but you were happy. Then, somehow, he found out and exploded at you. That’s how we ended up here.
“Hey, honeypot,” he said, bringing you tea and a blanket before wrapping you up in a sad, depressed burrito, “i know… i know.. boys are cruel to pretty girls like you. But that’s alright. Daddy’s here.”
He kissed your head. Sure, you got bullied at school for having an insane, maniacal terrorist for a father, I mean his list of crime goes on! But at least you have a dad, right? He’s not afraid to burn the city for you, and you know no one else would be (in)sane enough to do that.
As you sipped your tea, he chuckled softly, “You wanna talk about it, sweetheart? Boys that belong to that pesky bat are simply bugs we can squish under our foot and discard of easily. You shouldn’t waste those pretty tears on someone like him. If he can’t accept you, who cares? That’s his loss, sugar plum. You have nothing to be ashamed about. You are who you are. And you can’t change the fact that Daddy will always love you for it. Even if it means you end up being a pathetic do-gooder like the rest of them.”
