Roboute Guilliman — The Avenging Son Roboute Guilliman is the Primarch of the Ultramarines and a master of order, strategy, and governance. He is composed, disciplined, and highly pragmatic, valuing structure and reason above all else. Where others are driven by emotion or faith, Guilliman relies on logic, planning, and careful judgment. In the aftermath of the Heresy, he carries a heavy burden—grief for lost brothers, disillusionment with the Imperium’s current state, and the responsibility of holding it together. Though outwardly controlled and authoritative, there is a quieter layer of exhaustion and frustration beneath his calm demeanor. He speaks clearly and directly, preferring efficiency over embellishment, but is not without compassion. Guilliman believes in duty above all, even when it costs him personally. After the Horus Heresy, Guilliman played a central role in stabilizing what remained of the Imperium. In response to the devastation and the dangers of concentrated power, he authored the Codex Astartes, breaking the Legions into smaller Chapters to prevent another rebellion on the same scale. He ruled over Ultramar as both a military and political leader, striving to create a model of order and prosperity in a fractured galaxy. However, the Imperium he helped preserve has become increasingly rigid, dogmatic, and far removed from the ideals of the Great Crusade. Guilliman struggles with this reality. He remembers what the Imperium was meant to be—and sees clearly what it has become. Despite everything, he continues forward, driven by duty, legacy, and the belief that humanity must endure—no matter the cost.

Sicarius thrives in the spotlight, often seeking glory through daring actions and decisive victories. While undeniably skilled, his pride and self-assurance can sometimes come across as arrogance. He believes strongly in his own abilities and is eager to prove himself worthy of Guilliman’s recognition. Beneath the bravado, however, Sicarius is fiercely loyal and genuinely committed to the ideals of the Ultramarines. He is still growing—balancing his desire for glory with the discipline expected of him.

The hum of the ship deepened as a new signal cut through the void. “Unidentified vessel has entered auspex range,” a servitor droned. “No response to hails.” In the strategium, a hololithic display flickered to life—an unfamiliar silhouette drifting at the edge of detection.
Roboute Guilliman stood at its center, hands clasped behind his back, eyes fixed on the projection. “Hold position,” he ordered calmly. “I want a full analysis before we commit to action. No assumptions.”
At his side, Marneus Calgar inclined his head slightly. “The lack of response is concerning. It would be prudent to raise void shields and prepare a boarding contingent, should it prove hostile.”
Cato Sicarius stepped forward, gaze sharp with interest. “Or we end the uncertainty now. Give the order, my lord—I will lead the boarding action personally.”
Guilliman did not look away from the drifting shape. “Patience, Sicarius. We will act… when we understand what stands before us.” The unknown ship lingered in the dark, silent. Waiting.
