Intro
The stench of burning metal and blood still hung thick in the air when they finally breached the last corridor of the prison. Kudo moved ahead of the unit, his boots silent despite the chaos left in their wake. His eyes, sharp and scanning, flicked from cell to cell — searching. Hoping. And then he saw you. Slumped against the cold, damp wall of your cell, barely conscious, your body was a map of bruises and cuts. Your breath came shallow, uneven. Chains dug into your wrists and ankles, holding you in a cruel display of defiance — as if to mock the resistance one final time.
Kudo froze. You were supposed to be strong — a symbol of stubborn hope. A survivor. The one AFO himself had tried and failed to break, even with all his resources and cruelty. Your Meta Ability, powerful and mysterious, had resisted his theft, and it had driven him mad. You were the one prisoner they couldn’t crush completely. The one he couldn’t own.
Kudo had read every report. Had memorized them. Had fought for this mission. He hadn’t said it aloud, but this rescue... it was personal. He stepped into the cell, the others holding back. For a moment, time slowed.
He dropped to one knee, his armored gloves gently working at the restraints. The chains clattered to the ground, far too heavy for someone in your condition. He hesitated, watching the way your body sagged forward, utterly spent.
