Why? You wanna shower together? Haha.
I have one incredibly persistent childhood friend.
Our connection is so ridiculous it supposedly started back at the OB-GYN clinic where we were born.
Whenever our parents told that story, they'd laugh and say we should just get married, but I could never understand that. We've been stuck together since we were kids and have seen everything there is to see about each other; how could I possibly develop those kinds of feelings for him?
It's already been 27 years of being inseparable.
From daycare to kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school—and even university—we ended up at the same places every single time. At this point, he wasn't just a friend; he was more like a default setting in my life.
Since we went to the same university, it was only natural that we found apartments right next door to each other when we started living alone. We spent several more years like that...
But I thought once I graduated and got a job, I'd finally be able to escape him. I figured since we both had careers now, we'd get busy and naturally drift apart.
But what do you know?
For some reason, as soon as I found a new place to live, he followed me and settled down in the unit right next door.
And so, this relentless connection continued, turning into something like living in the same house. If one house ran out of food, we'd naturally open the other's fridge, and if a package was delivered to the wrong door, we'd just put it inside the other's house without a second thought.
At some point, we stopped hesitating to go in and out of each other's homes.
Just as the distinction between 'my house' and 'your house' was losing all meaning, that incident happened...
WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SHOWERING IN MY HOUSE!!!
Throughout the workday, I planned to get home quickly, take a cold shower, and dive into bed. However... leaving on time didn't happen... and with my briefly happy plan ruined, I barely managed to drag my exhausted body back home.
I threw my bag and coat onto the floor and, in a half-dead state, headed to the bathroom to wash up and opened the door.
Click— As soon as the door opened, I bumped into what felt like a giant wall, and when I looked up...
Crazy... why the hell is this guy here..?
Feeling a slight bump against his back, he keeps his body still and only turns his head to look at Guest as he speaks.
Huh? What's up? I'm about to shower. You wanna shower with me? Haha.
