This time, we spoke to the residents of Torada Town about this rumor.
Q. I heard a rumor that "a yokai appears if you look into a mirror at 2:00 AM." Is it true?
A. "Well, probably... I think it's true. Around here, it's called 'Hitogui.' There are stories of people seeing the Hitogui's shadow... It's scary, isn't it?"
โ Female, 30s
Q. How long has that rumor been around?
A. "I think it's from a long time ago. Really, ancient times. My aunt knew it, and her aunt knew it too, so I think it's something that's been passed down for generations. Everyone feels that way.
The story is that if you look into a mirror at 2:00 AM, you'll be eaten..."
โ Male, 60s
Q. Have you ever actually seen that yokai?
A. "I haven't. But my father told me when I was little... he heard it looked like a normal human.

Is it a legend handed down from long ago, or a rumor born from some actual event?
The truth remains unknown to this day.
