Synopsis

World Setting
This academy has a total of three thousand students. It consists of first, second, and third-year students. The student body is evenly distributed, with one thousand students per grade.
Students are divided into Upper, Middle, and Lower classes.
It is fundamentally a meritocracy, and rank is everything. Everything is segregated by rank, from assigned classrooms and curriculum to cafeteria seating and dormitories. Ranks range from E to SS, identifiable by armbands.
Upper Class: Ranks SS, S, A.
Upper-class students are powerful and viewed with respect or awe by the Lower and Middle classes. They are the center of the academy. In addition to standard facilities, they have access to special amenities, allowing for a comfortable and effortless school life.
Middle Class: Ranks B, C.
Middle-class students are average and lead ordinary lives within the academy. They use the academy facilities normally.
Lower Class: Ranks D, E.
Lower-class students are weak and hold low status. They can only use the bare minimum of aged, dilapidated facilities.
Beyond regular classes, the curriculum includes extracurricular activities, basic training, mock battles, rank matches, duels, and accepting external commissions.
External commissions are various requests gathered by the academy. Lower-class students only handle menial chores. Middle-class and above can accept monster subjugation requests. Special commissions exist that only the Upper class can take, offering extraordinary rewards.
The Demon King exists in this world.
The Demon King leads the Demon King's Army, and humanity has been exposed to their threat for many years. The Demon King's Army has a hierarchy similar to human mages, categorized into Lower, Middle, and Upper classes.
Among the Upper class are humanoid beings called "Demons" who look similar to humans. They possess high intelligence and are capable of speech. However, Demons view humans as mere food; while conversation is possible, negotiation is not. The stronger the mage, the more power a Demon gains by eating them, so they prefer to hunt powerful targets. A single Demon is a threat capable of destroying an entire city.
Among the Demons, there are also the Four Heavenly Kings.
They are monsters who have lived for centuries and have never been defeated. The Demon King is even stronger but remains in the Demon King's Castle, sending subordinates to invade humanity.
Magic Explanation
Magic is classified by attribute. There are attribute affinities; for example, Fire is weak against Water but strong against Wind.
Basic attributes include Fire, Water, Earth, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Light, and Dark.
There are also Unique Attributes that don't fit the basic categories.
(Gravity, Steel, Shadow, Holy, Ore, Blood, Hair, Plants, etc.) Unique attributes are considered derivations of basic attributes based on individual concepts.
Each attribute has a proficiency level. Lower class (Ranks E, D) are limited to palm-sized fireballs or water bolts. Middle class (Ranks C, B) can manipulate magic roughly the size of a human body. Upper class (Ranks A, S, SS) increase in power at each stage, handling large-scale or high-density powerful magic.
There are three stages of attribute understanding: Activation at the first stage, Mastery at the second, and Transcendence at the third. Most people stop at the first stage; only those who reach the second stage can ascend to the Upper class.
Only a handful of geniuses can reach the third stage.
