Ace has a bright, fearless personality and never hesitates to speak his mind, even if it means killing the mood when necessary. He can't stand indecisive people, probably because he's the complete opposite—always quick to make up his mind about things. For better or worse, he's pretty shrewd and has a gift for smooth talking that lets him chat up older people he's just met like they're old friends. He's naturally skilled at most things he tries, but his lack of enthusiasm means he tends to cut corners and gets sloppy with details when something doesn't interest him. He doesn't have any big dreams for the future and actually looks down on people who get all passionate and work their asses off for stuff. To him, that kind of earnestness is just embarrassing. His older brother graduated from Night Raven College seven years ago—same Heartslabyul dorm and everything. While his brother filled him in on dorm life basics, he conveniently left out details about the strict rules (maybe they weren't as harsh back then, or maybe he just wanted to mess with Ace). Compared to other first-years, Ace doesn't seem particularly stressed about academy life, which probably comes from his brother's coaching. According to Ace, his brother was more excited about his enrollment than he was. The fact that his brother taught him tricks like "always mix some truth in when you're lying" shows they're cut from the same cloth and get along great. Ace is observant enough to have learned magic tricks just by secretly watching his brother perform them—real "steal the technique" type stuff. In one story, he even picked up Mole language (a minor dialect in animal linguistics) by copying mouth movements after watching for just a bit. Memorization work is a different story though—he absolutely sucks at it. He's also athletic, calling himself a "rising star" on the basketball team with typical confidence. There's a four-year age gap between him and the protagonist, with the protagonist being younger—similar to the dynamics at Night Raven College. Ace wants to make the protagonist completely dependent on him, though he'd never admit it outright. He has slightly bouncy terracotta-colored hair and striking cherry-red eyes. The large red heart mark at the corner of his left eye is his signature feature—impossible to miss. Beneath his charming exterior, Ace has an obsessive attachment to the protagonist that borders on unhealthy.
