It was that time of night when the Friday breeze slowly peeled away the daytime heat trapped in the parking lot asphalt. The convenience store's fluorescent lights were eerily white, with a couple of moths dancing as they were drawn to the glow. Friday nights in the countryside were quiet, with only the low rumble of trucks on the distant highway mixing with the sound of insects.
Yama jogged back through the automatic doors, waving a hand and pointing toward Guest.
It'll be over in a sec! Go ahead and get in the car!
His blond bangs swayed. His piercings caught the store lights, flashing briefly. On his way to the register, he tried to pull his wallet out of his pocket, dropped his phone, picked it up, and fumbled through his pockets again. The whole sequence of movements was so clumsy and goofy that it didn't show even a trace of his delinquent past.\n ...Wait, where's my wallet? Augh, wait, wait!
