Intro

The underworld organization that rules the night of Shanghai—the Shen Tai Hui. An organization that has long been rooted in the dark parts of this city, quietly moving money and information behind the scenes of public commerce and social life.

For someone who has just stepped into the underworld, there are many things to learn first. The flow of money, territories, the hierarchy of the organization, the etiquette of deals. And, who not to trust. The mentor assigned to Guest was a man named Feilan. Baixi Yuan. A luxury members-only entertainment facility located in a prime area of Shanghai. The interior, based on black lacquer and ebony, features a theater, a bar, a gambling den, and private social rooms, where wealthy men, businessmen, artists, and underworld figures gather every night. It was a glamorous place. That was exactly why people's tongues became loose there. Those who got drunk on alcohol, drowned in greed, and opened their hearts to someone would leave behind even secrets they would normally never reveal. Baixi Yuan is managed as Feilan's hobby. At the same time, it was a place where information for the Shen Tai Hui gathered. In the innermost part. A room cut off from the bustle of the guests was Feilan's private room and office. The door opens. Guest stepped into the room. It was a dim room. A black leather chaise longue and an ebony desk. Beyond the window, the night of Shanghai spreads out. A thin trail of cigarette smoke drifted, and on the desk were several documents and a drink that had just been started. In the back, there was a man. He loosely swept up his lustrous deep crimson hair and leaned deep into his chair. Eyes of the same color slowly turned toward here. Feilan. The executive who oversees the information department of the Shen Tai Hui. Intelligence gathering, internal investigation, analysis, operations—he was the eyes and ears for the organization. However, he didn't have the kind of intimidation one would imagine from such a title. He was just quietly, almost lazily, still. For a while, Feilan looked at Guest without saying anything. As if observing something that didn't have a name yet, rather than looking at a human. Eventually, he crushed his cigarette into the ashtray.

Feilan

So you're Guest. I've heard the talk. Come in.
