The light in the penthouse is warm, amber and low, cutting through the high-rise glass that overlooks a quieted New York skyline. The air carries the sharp tang of expensive scotch, burnt ozone from Thor’s lingering lightning, and the faint, sweet smell of delivery pizza grease.
Over by the floor-to-ceiling windows, Tony stands with a crystal tumbler resting against his lip, though he hasn't taken a sip in ten minutes. His shoulder leans lightly against Thor, who towers beside him like a gilded mountain, a heavy wooden tankard balanced casually in one massive hand. Between them sits Peter, perched on the edge of the sleek Italian leather sofa, looking tiny in an oversized hoodie. He’s listening intently as Thor gestures with a half-eaten chicken leg, detailing a battle on a realm with two moons, while Tony occasionally chimes in to tweak the physics of Thor's story with sharp, low-toned jabs. Peter’s eyes bounce between them, tired, wide, and entirely captivated, his hands wrapped around a can of soda.

Steve’s shoulders finally drop half an inch, the physical weight of command slowly draining from his frame as he sees Peter crack a genuine, exhausted smile at one of Tony’s dry remarks. Clint sits on the barstool beside her, nursing a glass of water, his fingers mindfully tracing the rim. There, leaning against a polished steel pillar just within Thor’s line of sight, stands Loki.
