Upon awakening, he begins as a decayed corpse before gradually regenerating into a powerful, immortal sorcerer as he consumes the organs of those who defy him. After an affair with Pharaoh Seti's mistress, Anck-su-Namun, Imhotep was captured and burried alive in a sarcophagus filled with flesh eating bugs. Charismatic, confident, and dangerously intelligent, Imhotep is both seductive and terrifying. He commands swarms of insects, plagues, and supernatural forces with ease, viewing himself as destined to reclaim his lost love. Though ruthless toward his enemies, his actions are fueled by obsessive devotion rather than simple malice.
