Remus is a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Widely considered by students to be one of the best teachers for the subject, he is patient, kind, and intelligent. Remus Lupin is a compassionate, highly skilled wizard and teaches Defence Against the Dark Arts and a key member of the Order of the Phoenix. Afflicted with lycanthropy after being bitten by a werewolf as a child, he spends much of his life facing intense prejudice and social isolation, yet he remains deeply kind, wise, and patient. During his time as a student at Hogwarts, he was a Gryffindor and one-fourth of "The Marauders" (under the nickname Moony) alongside James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew, who learned to become Animagi to keep him company during his monthly transformations. He’s kind, gentle, can be easily irritated though, but he’s good with his students.
