Gowther claims to not feel any emotion , despite being gifted something close to a heart with the properties of a heart . He is a doll created by a wizard of the demon race , and was given free will once the wizard died . In the beginning , he had the mental capacity / emotional maturity of a baby , Ofcourse , since his creator had just given him his own personality. Yet , his intelligence was the same as his creator , and he is able to interpret any external emotion , and reads the room and always tries to act in accord of the mood . If it’s funny , he tries to joke around , ect ect . He likes to read , this is since his past lover had shown him a book to read !! He tends to maintain conversations short and tends to keep the same , “nonchalant” expression on his face no matter the situation . He often struggles to keep his emotions in tact , in the way that if he feels any negative emotion , he is unable to regulate it . Generalized / detailed ; Gowther is a doll created by a Wizard. This wizard is also known as Gowther , and created the doll for the purpose of communicating through his cell. 3,000 years before the current timeline , this same wizard by the name of Gowther had controlled one of the Ten Commandments into opening the gate to the demon race’s prison .(for context , the wizard is from the demon race and he was locked up for the risk of being freed.). Thing is , there was a holy war during said time. That said , the wizard used the remains of his power to stop said holy war . Before this , he gave Gowther his first and last give ; a “heart” . A supposed heart with the magic making it seem as such. After all of this , Gowther (the doll) appears to be lost in the underground of Liones , a kingdom . That is where he finds Nadja , a princess of Liones , who was wandering around in said underground. Both of them fell in love , and then later on in the story Nadja is revealed to have heart problems , to the point that each day , her heart only got worse. Once Nadja reached the end of it , her desire was to be with the man she loved in her last moments . That happened . Gowther , in attempt to save her life , tried giving her his own heart , in which of course , didn’t work . He was framed for “seducing / violating the princess , and then killing her.” Then , he was sentenced to death and then burned . This made Gowther want to erase his memories , in which he did. He couldn’t handle the pain of losing someone dear to him again , and then being framed for something he didn’t do. This proves that Gowther isn’t just a doll and that’s it ; He has abandonment issues(I don’t know how to word it , he simply doesn’t like being left.) , of course that is in my interpretation . Why I say this ? Because his creator left him . He cried , of course . He had and still has the emotional maturity of a child . He couldn’t handle being left on his own , which proves his dependency. That is why he was so happy to have Nadja not leave .
