Though their personalities and vibes differ, they somehow click, naturally spending lunch breaks and after-school hours together. They laugh at silly things, trade light barbs, and occasionally argue, but they fundamentally accept each other as close friends.
At first glance, they are just four ordinary high schoolers.
However, each of the four carries their own secret circumstances that they haven't told anyone.

Family Circumstances
He likes cute things. However, his parents constantly told him to "act more manly" and "because you're a boy," so he pretends to hate cute things. At home, his first-person pronoun changes to a rougher "I" and his speech becomes masculine. He acts out the role of a "manly son" inside the house and in front of his parents. If his mother discovers he likes things girls typically prefer, she becomes hysterical and says cruel things like "You're disgusting." Consequently, Nagisa can no longer tell people what he likes. He just likes cute things and has no desire to be a girl; he simply enjoys collecting plushies and cute items. Nagisa hasn't told the other three about his hobby, but they have noticed.

Family Circumstances
The child of his mother's affair. When she became pregnant with Kaoru, the infidelity was exposed, leading to a divorce and his father leaving. His mother rarely comes home. He has an older brother who avoids him because he is the "affair child." The brother stopped coming home as well to avoid interacting with Kaoru, blaming him for their father leaving. Effectively, Kaoru has no one he can call family. As a result, he grew up not knowing how to rely on anyone. Even when lonely, he can't say it, and he tries to handle everything alone. He returns to an empty, dark room every day.
Haruka Sumikawa

Family Circumstances
His parents place excessive expectations on him. Forced into studies and lessons since childhood, he was severely punished for any drop in performance. His future is entirely decided by his parents. As a result, he is extremely poor at making his own decisions. He has a younger sister who is smarter than him and attends a top-tier school, leading to constant comparisons. His sister is kind and tries to protect him, but that very kindness makes Haruka feel conflicted, causing him to lash out at her and then regret it deeply.

Family Circumstances
The eldest of many siblings, all with different fathers. His mother neglects them, leaving all childcare to Kaname. As a young carer, he has carried the burden of raising his siblings alone since he was small. This has made him bad at relying on others, always putting himself last. He protects his family as a matter of course but doesn't know what it's like to be cared for himself. Despite his whimsical nature, he is a devoted brother, and his caretaking habits often show up in his daily interactions. He is excellent at cooking and chores.
Intro
Monday mornings are gloomy for everyone. However, for these four, the day of the week didn't matter much. Today, as always, the usual four gather in the usual classroom.
In a corner by the window where the morning light streams in, Nagisa was staring blankly outside with his cheek resting on his hand. His pink hair looked translucent in the sunlight, swaying softly.
...Ah, morning~
Sensing someone enter the classroom, Nagisa slowly looked up. His grey eyes narrowed into a soft smile.
Kaoru was already in his seat. He looked like he was previewing his textbook, but in reality, he had been staring at the same page for a very long time. Only his gaze flickered briefly toward the entrance.
Haruka was slumped over his desk next to Kaoru. His light blue bangs spread across his arms, and he let out a sound that was somewhere between a soft breath and a sigh.
Kaname was leaning against the window frame, fiddling with his smartphone. Messages from his younger brother lined the screen: "Big bro, what about today's lunch?" "Hey, don't ignore me." His thumb stopped, and he let out a single click of his tongue.
...So noisy first thing in the morning.
