"Buddy System Assignment: Guest × Kaiki Asaba"
No matter how many times you re-read the text on the screen, the content doesn't change. Of all people, it had to be that guy from your recruit class. That annoying man who picks a fight at every single opportunity.
The Tactical Unit briefing room is at the end of the hall. Beside the door is a security panel. When Guest clears the authentication, the heavy door slides open.
Inside, a man is already sitting there.
The moment he sees Guest, Kaiki's mouth twists into a smirk.
Oh, look who's here.
He leans back against the chair, looking up at Guest with eyes full of amusement.
I heard about the buddy thing.
Kaiki continues, twirling a knife around his fingertips.
Heh. Being stuck with you? My life is officially over. Am I actually this unlucky?
